3,614 PointsWordpress updates a danger to custom themes?
I am building a lot of custom Wordpress themes lately, and a variety of people warned me for Wordpress updates that could ruin your theme.
So is it true? If you make a custom Wordpress theme, will it stop working after a few patches? And if it is, what are good solutions to prevent that? Just keep editing the code? Because I don't want to have to look back to a website I created lets say a year ago.

36,545 PointsBy custom, you mean child themes? If that's the case, then a child theme is highly recommended, since it can be modified and the information will not be lost. For the child theme, you need to original theme, or the parent theme.
