5,073 PointsWordpress Archive Page from Sidebar Widget
I need to add a widget to my wordpress site that contains text and image. The text will be updated with new text/image on a regular basis. The tricky part is that each new entry will link to another site, but I want all the entries to automatically be added to an archive page that lives on my site, and I need to have a link to the archive page at bottom of widget. I'm not sure if I need a plugin or if this is even possible as a widget. Hope this makes sense. Any help would be great as I'm new to wordpress.
Thanks!

Treehouse Guest TeacherIt sounds like you need to make this a custom post entry. Create an archive page that lists out what you need.
Then in your sidebar you could write a custom loop that pulls in whichever entry is appropriate to display. You could have a link to the archive page underneath it and if an external URL is one of the custom post fields you could also link out from your site if you need.
