9,087 PointsPlease do Help !!! Start by adding the proper Activity lifecycle methods needed to register and deregister the receiver.
To conserve battery, we want to add a broadcast receiver in TimeTravelActivity so that it only receives broadcasts when this Activity is running. Start by adding the proper Activity lifecycle methods needed to register and deregister the receiver. For now, just call the same methods from the parent class in each method.
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
public class TimeTravelActivity extends Activity {
public String targetYear;
private NetworkConnectionReceiver receiver = new NetworkConnectionReceiver();
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_time_travel);
Intent intent = getIntent();
targetYear = intent.getStringExtra("EXTRA_YEAR");
EnergySource source = (EnergySource)intent.getParcelableExtra("EXTRA_ENERGY");
}
}

56,413 PointsThe key part to understand here is the "Start by adding the proper Activity lifecycle methods..." You should start by adding onResume/onPause.
