I want to make a big directory website that can handle thousands of listings. It will manage a lot of listings, blog, events, advertisements, memberships, CRM, e-commerce and multilingual site.
I am not sure if WordPress is the perfect solution for me with regards to handling big data and the site's overall performance and I am not a fan of using a lot of plugins.
Is WordPress the right tool for big data website? if not, what are the best alternatives out there rather than WP?

Take the time to find a theme that meets your needs and do some research on available hosting plans to make sure you get the data storage you need without lag or site slowdown. You will also want to make sure you're compressing files as it sounds like you'll have a lot of them. These will all effect site performance. Best of luck!
