Could tell me about "Android Studio is built on top of IntelliJ IDEA" ?

Android Studio is built on top of IntelliJ IDEA, most of this workshop should apply to IntelliJ IDEA for your Java projects as well.I cannot realise IntelliJ IDEA project is compatible with Android Studio ?

IntelliJ IDEA build by JetBrains company. Google ask JetBrains to make an IDE for her, to develop Android apps in it. So JetBrains tweak IntelliJ IDEA and give it to google as Android Studio.

Android Studio is basically a customized version of IntelliJ IDEA. That's all he means.
