cant make a child theme

i have completed the bootstrap to wordpress module. i have nott been able to make a child theme from the parent theme. please help.

Hi Mike, Creating the Child theme is pretty simple after the creating a theme in bootstrap.Just do the following steps you will be. Step 1: Copy and paste your newly created bootstrap theme folder and rename it of your wish. Step 2: Go to style.css in the renamed theme folder. Step 3: Enter the below lines in the css file

/* Theme Name: My First Child Theme Theme URI: https://wordpress.org Author: the WordPress team Author URI: https://wordpress.org/ Template: parent_theme_name Description: Description for the theme Version: 1.0 */

Note : These comment lines are pretty important when it comes to Wordpress. It gives the informations about the files.Please make sure that you entered correct parent_theme_name in the Template field.

actually i got it to work.however, i cant load a background header image.. for some strange reason i can style and modify the child css exept i wont load my background image..

} ?> my only problem right now is that i cant load my background image in the header. i get a 404 error message even thought the path is correct.

Seems you might have permission issue in the image file, If the path is correct.
