can someone advice me on a good plugin to get readers to subscribe via email?

I was hoping to find a Free good plugin to incentive readers to email subscribe to my blog. I saw a lot when I searched, but was a little confused because there are so many options.

There are a few variables in play with this:

  • are you connecting to service like MailChimp or ConstantContact?
  • are you offering an incentive for them to subscribe?
  • connecting to a CRM

I recently started using this on a client's site who wanted to offer downloads in exchange for email subscribe and it has worked well for them. https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/double-opt-in-for-download
