Why when I come back into android studio I can't find my project. There is no design or text tab

Usually when you open Android Studio it will open automatically with the last project you were working on, unless you closed the project beforehand.
You should be able to open the project from the context menu at the top and it'll be listed as a recent project or make a new project from that screen.
