You can also use tab to indent and shift+tab to de-indent multiple highlighted lines, right?

This works for me on Mac OS X Yosemite and prior. I think it also works on Windows. This feels more natural for my fingers, using a QWERTY keyboard and home row typing in combination with the mouse, and it's quicker for me. My $0.02.

That doesn't work for me. (Also using Macs with multiple OS). If I highlight multiple lines and hit tab, the lines delete and a tab replaces them.

Personally for multiple lines at once, I use Command + [ (de-indent)

or Command + ] (indent)

Odd. I just verified that I am able to use tab or shift+tab to indent/de-indent with both Chrome and Firefox on Yosemite in the TTH.com workspace environment and in Enthought Canopy. I wonder if it is a system or browser setting I changed somewhere in the past...
