Xcode simulator runs extremely slow!

I'm trying to follow along with the videos but the Xcode simulator builds extremely slow and sometimes when I press on the application itself, the only thing that it shows is a blank white screen. Is anyone else experiencing this? It also should be noted that I'm running the latest version of Xcode (9.2)

Thanks!

Yeah, simulators take a lot of resources. I have a new MacBook Pro and it's kinda slow here as well. Needs a lot of CPU and RAM. I would suggest to wirelessly run the project on an iPhone if you have one, this goes extremely quick and it's more convenient.
