Wow, captions are draggable? Also, I've seen lots of mistakes in the CC of videos. I don't think they are well checked.

Nearly 40,000 points in and I don't think any instructor has mentioned this that I recall. They do block text on the screen. I thought I just had to live with it. I've turned them off and backed up to see what was blocked. This changes that and will make things even easier going forward. Thanks, Treehouse and Anwar Montasir.

As far as the CC mistakes, I could probably spend all day sending messages to the staff about these. I don't know if they are a word for word copy of the transcript. Again, I thought it was another thing I just had to live with. It's especially problematic when I am watching content with no audio as I sometimes do (during slow times at work or elsewhere when I can't use earbuds).

It would be nice if there was a sort of wikipedia-like content contribution for changes (probably easy to do if transcripts and CC are linked and editable by the community). Just a thought, though.

Captions are draggable? I’m gonna go check this out!

As far as I’m aware CC’d don’t have to be a word for word copy of the transcript. Their job is to convey what is on the screen. They are possibly a combination of what is said and audio descriptors. Also, they have time constraints. Users probably shouldn’t have to pause the video to finish reading long ccs.

Hi all! If you do come across any typos or mistakes in the closed captions, please feel free to email us here at help@teamtreehouse.com so we can get those fixed! We do try our best to catch those during QA but human errors can happen :) We appreciate your input on this!

I didn't think they were word for word, and I didn't think about conveying audio (not much of a thing in Treehouse). But there are often quite a few mistakes. If they are supposed to be checked by the instructor, then they should be better. Good input, Thanks.
