What I have tried: cathegories, menus, sidebars, fields, widgets, pots. Nothing from what was mentioned in the videos, will let me continue. Any ideas? Thank you.

Categories are a high level, general way to group content, where as Tags are more specific. So it's actually number 1 - Tags, number 2 - Categories.
