wordpress not using front-page.php even set as static page?

I cant edit front-page.php and results wont come up on front page only shows changes in index.php. I set home page as static already but front-page.php cant be used

Are you sure you changed the front-page setting and not the blog page setting? It should be working fine if you changed the front-page setting in the read menu.

If so, do you have any more details on the problem? Maybe a link or something

If you've done like I did, you probably forgot to save the front-page.php file after you'd copied and edited it. Do check though as Stanley suggested and check that you have "A static page" set in the "Front page displays" area on the customize screens. I had two "Home" pages so ensure that you are also using the correct one otherwise no matter how many changes you make, you're still not going to see them!
