WordPress Failure notice uploading theme

I am working in my local development environment on a WordPress site.

Everything is running fine and I want to upload a custom theme for the site.

When I try to upload a theme I get this Failure Notice: "Warning: POST Content-Length of 9169798 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0 Are you sure you want to do this?"

Does anyone have a suggested resolution for this issue? Many Thanks
