Willing helpers with my logo I have hit a creative wall!

Hi everyone,

After just over a year on team treehouse I launched my first large WordPress site which can be found at carjobsuk.com should you want to take a look. I'm open to feedback and any feedback is good feedback, it would be good to hear from other designers and developers.

My main reason for this question is that over this last year I have tried my hand in a few areas getting to know what I enjoy most and it is definitely CSS and WordPress. This however lets me fall short on design and whenever I try to make something it is possibly insulting to any actual designer.

I am wondering if a member of treehouse has found themselves more drawn to design and would give me a helping hand, I have some consepts I have already done on illustrator so this is by no means a reach out for a freebie just would appreciate some guidance :)

Hope someone can help me out, Craig

Hi Craig Watson,

Great site! There are two things, at first look, that leaves me a bit perplexed:

  • the first is the whitespace between the last content on the page and the block "Got a question?"
  • and the second is the low contrast in the alternate section, I think a darker grey tone helps to separate the these sections. I try to apply an #f3f3f3 with the inspector elements and for me results more visible.

And for the second question I would be happy to help you with your designs!

Hi Giammarco :)

Thanks for your reply and I really do appreciate the feedback I work on my own so it becomes easy to overlook lings at times as well as get stuck on one idea.

Those alternate sections are something that I got caught up with for a long time, I tried the brand blue with a sort of flip with with the colours so background blue text/images white but it was to WOW when you scrolled down. I have just darkened the grey as you suggested and I must admit I do prefer it and will be adding it to the local site as I do an update on it every monday evening.

What would be the best way to suit you for having a look over some of the designs I have been messing around with ?

Thanks a lot for the reply Craig

I'll give you my email so you can write me and we decide how to continue!

I have to thank you since reply at the question it helps me to get stronger with my english! so thank you too! I look for your email!
