1,149 Pointswill this course in JS help me learn to build a hybrid social media app?
Hello! I am new to programming. I have some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and I intend to learn Java Script so that I can build a hybrid social media app. I plan to build the app in two months. This course seems to be more focused in developing games using JS. I would like to be sure if this course will also provide me with all the knowledge in JS that I could use in building a social media app. Also, is there any other JS course here in Treehouse which which will better suit my needs?

You need more than one course to be able to build a social media app. You need to know how to handle Security, how to create the backend and so on. It seems like a lot to learn, but if you go one step at a time you will manage to learn it really soon. JavaScript is really useful if you want to build any web application. You can try the Beginner JavaScript track which will take you through the basics.
Good luck and keep working towards your goal!

14,155 PointsInteresting question. . . Either you are extremely smart and you will learn at a lighting speed all you need to know to build such a project in 2 months or you are very naive and you will get disappointed in 2 months. Either way, I wish you good luck with it. If you want to create something like that with JavaScript start learning the basics, and the advanced before moving on to Angular 4 / React, NodeJs, MongoDb etc...

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 19,468 PointsYou could do the free trial of the Full Stack JS Techdegree and see if that suits your needs. I think you would need a lot of different skills to be able to build this. Good luck!
