Widgets vs Plugins

are widgets and plugins the same thing. In the video Zac started off talking about widgets then he added a plugin and it seems to have loaded in the widget area.

Hi Tarry,

Not exactly. Plugins are ways of extending the core functionality of WordPress whereas Widgets are ways of adding features (sometimes from plugins) to sidebars, etc.

Not really, a plugin is an extension. It can be anything, from a widget to something complementary to optimize your website
