Why isn't this project Mobile First?

I'm just interested as to why this instructor didn't choose to style this Mobile First. Almost every CSS/HTML video on Treehouse seems to really push Mobile First but it was the opposite here...

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. Was it because it was pretty much purely typographic?

Cheers!

Unsure of the choice here but I believe a mobile-first approach is more of a preference and depends upon the target audience for the client. The majority of the projects that I've seen in my first year at a creative agency have been desktop first. I've only had one client request a mobile-first mock-up for a microsite, as children regularly viewed their primary site via tablet devices.
