why is it when i use getElementsByTagName on ul it returns 2 results not 3?

i am trying to use getElementsByTagName method on ul, but it returns 2 results instead of 3, why is this?

Because you only have 2 <ul> elements...

There is only two <ul> elements in the HTML. Did you perhaps expect three <li> elements? If so, I would add a class name to the ul you are trying to select and use document.querySelector('<class name> li')
