Why import Party class and make property?

I was wondering why you would import the Party class and make that property-instance of the class Party?

We don't use them, and i tried to comment them out and the result was exactly the same

    //@class Party;
   //@property (nonatomic, strong)  Party *party;

Same result as

    @class Party;
   @property (nonatomic, strong)  Party *party;
