White testing the html code on validator.w3.org it throws an error message.

Error Message: Line 7, Column 122: Bad value http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Ubuntu:400,500italic|Open+Sans for attribute href on element link: Illegal character in query: not a URL code point.

Fix: It doesn't recognize | symbol so instead use %7c

You don't have to take the W3C as gospel; it's more of a helpful guide for finding issues or improving code, but is very much in need of updating.
