Data Analysis Techdegree Graduate 11,564 Pointswhich track to take first
I am currently interested in data analyst and data science. Which track is the best to take first in learning this new skill? I am completely new at this type of skill and want to take the best route possible. Should I take coding for beginners first then head into data analyst and then data science? Also should I only add Python if I want to go into data science?

Treehouse TeacherHey Sarah Schaeffer , great question! I'm glad to see that you're interested in going down the Data path.
Data Analysis Fundamentals will give you an overall idea of Data Analysis as a field, and will not go into much coding. It focuses on using Google Sheets to talk about data analysis concepts and I think it's a great dive into the concepts without getting too much into the code.
Data Science Fundamentals will further these concepts in a Python/programming way. Python is introduced and taught in a very fundamental way, so don't feel like you need to learn to code first.
I would recommend Data Analysis Fundamentals first to understand the concept, and then Data Science Fundamentals to dive into the practical.
Good luck!
