Where can I find photos to use in my practice projects?

I'm just starting to code a couple web pages and definitely am not a photographer. What is the best place to go for stock photos?

Sites like DeviantArt usually have free photos that are available to use in a project Typically, the artists ask that you credit their work somewhere in your project.

Stock photo sites are a good way to go. They are usually high quality, with lots of options for formats, sizes etc. But can get pretty pricey.

Royalty free/public domain images are a good way to go if you are on a budget.

Using google will get you plenty of photos, but you need to be aware of licenses. Go to Google Images tab > Search Tools > Filter by usage rights to find images that are free to use + modify.

iStockPhoto - Very popular stock photo site, you purchase credits with real money and use them to buy images. Can be expensive, especially if you are using lots of them.

Getty Images - Similar to istockphoto, also very popular.

Pixabay - Royalty free.
