JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Add a Final Else Clause

Whats wrong with my code ?

Add a final else clause to this conditional statement so that if the isAdmin variable and the isStudent variable are both false an alert opens with the message 'who are you?'

script.js
var isAdmin = false;
var isStudent = false;

if ( isAdmin ) {
    alert('Welcome administrator')
} else if (isStudent) {
    alert('Welcome student')
} else () {
    alert('Who are you')
}
index.html

<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

I'm really just not sure how to write the variables isAdmin and isStudent in the first () after the if..

Hi Timothy,

You have a couple of issues which are as follows:

  1. You have parentheses after the else keyword which are invalid, parentheses are only required for else if statements
  2. You simply don't have a question mark at the end of Who are you
if (isAdmin) {
  alert('Welcome administrator');
} else if (isStudent) {
  alert('Welcome student');
} else {
  alert('Who are you?');
}

Happy coding!

Thanks for the assist again
