What's wrong with my code?

My code seems completely correct to me, but the challenge won't accept it and I don't know why. Please help.

var a = 10; var b = 20; var c = 30;

if (a > b) { alert("a is greater than b."); } else { alert("a is not greater than b."); }

The task says that my code is not returning the string "a is not greater than b." in a form of an alert, when it clearly is.

script.js
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;

if (a > b) {
  alert("a is greater than b.");
} else {
  alert("a is not greater than b.");
}
index.html

  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;

if (a > b) {
  alert("a is greater than b.");
} else {
  alert("a is not greater than b.");
}

You have extra punctuation in your alert after the letter "b", so it's not matching the challenge answer.

You have some extra punctuation.

These challenges are really picky about output strings. Yours have periods at the end, which is not what the challenge is expecting. Just remove the periods and you should be good.
