What's the exact use of else if? Swift 2.0 if statements.

I am talking about Swift 2.0 if statements

I think it can be use when you have more than 2 conditions you use else if, for example.

If morning then
   eat.breakfast();
else if afternoon then
   eat.lunch();
else
   eat.dinner();
end

if your if statement checks a value that is false, it will move on to the next part of the chain if there is one. If it's an "else" statement, this code will run in all cases other than in the preceding if statement. But if it's an "else if" statement, there's another condition that has to be met.
