iOS Swift Enums and Structs Structs and their Methods Initializers

What's the difference between a default value and an initial value in a Struct?

It seems like they are synonymous, however, there is a key difference I cannot pin down. Any help will be appreciate.

Hey,

So a default value of a struct property is one that has a value already, whereas an initial value requires you to pass a value in when making an instance of the struct.

Example.

struct Computer {
    var hasKeyboard = true // this is **default** value, because already has a value
    var hasMonitor: Bool // this has no value and upon initialisation, requires to to give an **initial** value
}

I hope this helps.
