Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 84,738 PointsWhat's new in the new "Python Basics" course?
I just noticed the one I did is "retired" and there's a newer version.
Ben Jakuben
Treehouse TeacherSorry about that Taha El Azezy ! They should all have subtitles at this point. Sometimes there's a little delay from the service we use for subtitling. Do let us know if any are missing, but Kenneth Love can take a quick look to make sure they're all in place or at least in progress.

Python Development Techdegree Student 2,506 PointsOK! , and thanks Mr.Ben Jakuben for answer :)

20,315 PointsAs far as I can tell it's a revamped course, with not too many additions but I think Kenneth Love listened to people who started python and were struggling to understand things to help a lot, saw him posting on some threads. There is a focus on logic in python which is very helpful for beginners, new as well, as well as three sub-sections at the end that are new: making a shopping list app, number game app, and letter game app!

20,315 PointsOkay only the letter game is new! xD

20,315 PointsTaha El Azezy I don't know, but if English isn't your first language this could be a challenge. If this is the case for you try contacting treehouse about the matter by emailing help@teamtreehouse.com

7,114 Pointshey Josh actually python is an English programming system in general. As far as I know this a language that works with English I'm sorry but you can actually learn other programming language on the web.

78,399 PointsA section with 18 parts! Wow.. I think this "Basics" course should be split so the 3 "Apps" go in a different course. The whole course just seems to 'weighty' (long).
But at least it doesn't have a TacoCat challenge..
Josh Keenan
20,315 PointsBeware the tacocat...
Gavin Ralston
28,770 PointsYou know what tacocat spelled backwards is?
The Introduction Video covers why the beginner series has so many parts I think, within the first 3 minutes. It's implied, of course, so he won't actually SAY it in the video, but I think the subtext is there.
Practice, practice, practice. Build, build, build.
Breaking beginner concepts down atomically and giving people starting out (not only in Python but programming in general) a chance to digest everything seems to be a pretty good idea.
