Whatever makes you comfortable. :-)

Sublime Text 2/3 seem to be the most popular choices but I can't tear myself away from Notepad++.

It's really about personal choice and what works for you.

You've also got Coda 2.5 and Brackets. If your first starting out it really comes down to personal preference. Brackets works with Adobe Inspect which you can preview on your iPhone or iPad as your working. I also think Coda can to with extension.

I started with Dreamweaver because it was easier to learn with and had a built in FTP but now there are many that also do the same. I like BBedit, Sublime Text, Coda, and CSSEdit.

I really like brackets and sublime

My favorite is Notepad++! I've been using it for a while and really like it.

Really depends what you like. I really enjoy TextWrangler.

aptanaStudio is the best, because it has many tools and you can check your website in different screen resolution.

Sublime is awesome but now I have been using Atom which I like to use as well. Here are the links to their websites:
