General Discussion

What Program Should I learn to do the following?

Hi, my goal is to create the following by learning at Treehouse.

  1. I want to create a Bible database with XML files (or not) and make that available for readers. Check this page for example https://www.bible.com/bible/1713/EXO.1.CSB

  2. Create a database where a donor of a nonprofit can check information about the donation he made, along with the donation purpose by login in through a webpage. On our end, we enter the information via form, then submission. Then, the donor logs in, by clicking a button on our webpage (like members-only area), and use his credentials to login and see information about his donation.

I hope I am making sense. It is like, the sensitive data is only visible to that particular donor.

My question is: Are there any courses that would help me do this kind of work, here on Treehouse? Please let me know.

Thank you, Joel.

There are several possible paths to a data-driven web app, and you'll find many related courses. One decision you'll need to make early on is what language will you develop the sever-side code in. Some possible choices (all covered by courses) are C#, Ruby, Python, PHP, and JavaScript.

With that choice made, you can then pick the appropriate Track and begin learning.

Thank you for your response! I think I would start with Python.
