You need complete comparison expressions to combine them. Also, you need a different logic operator to combine the two inequality tests in a way that satisfies the criteria:

if start_movie != 'n' and start_movie != 'N':

Another way to do this would be using the membership operator (have you gotten to that yet?):

if start_movie not in ['n','N']:
