Use the appropriate jQuery method to retrieve information from a form input field.
$(β#my-text-inputβ).();
then the correct answer is the .val() method.
The main reason you want to use .val() over .text() is because .text() will only return a string whereas .val() will return a string, number, or array.
This allows you to do more with the returned value such as performing number methods or array methods.
