what is the mistake i am doing here?

I want the nav links to be below arrow icon but in the header image

By constraining the header height to 500px, there's just not enough room for the nav to fit inside, so it overflows.

You'll either need to allow the header to grow (try "min-height" instead of "height"), or you'll need to cut down on the dimensions of things so they can all fit.
