begining-of-line start-group start-char-set any-word-char comma end-char-set one-or-more space end-group
The error is the comma and space should be outside of the group since neither is part of the first name. Changing this will pass the challenge:
names = re.match(r'''
^([\w]+),\s # <-- moved comma and space outside of group
([\w ]+)$
''', string, re.X)
