What does "mcs" mean in the context of running C# code?

I took this course to try and understand how to use the command prompt when learning C#. I never quite learned the answer to my question. How do I run code in C# and what does "mcs" mean?

Thanks!

Hi there, Evan Welch! The "mcs" command is specific to C#. Namely, it runs the Mono compiler.

Here's some more information about the Mono compiler.

Hope this helps! :sparkles:
