What am I wrong?

remove the h1 and p elements from your first <section> tag and place it under the <header> tag after the <ul>. The <header> tag is considered for use to include the introductory content in the website. -cheers.

It looks like you either are missing a set of <nav> tags at the top, or the ones on the lower section are in the wrong place:

    <header>
<nav> // try adding this tag here
    <ul>
      <li><a href="#">About</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Work</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>            
    </ul>
</nav> // and close it here
    </header>
