What am I missing? It has to be something VERY simple...

I have a feeling it's with the "if" statement. Maybe I have too many ' ' marks...

it looks okay to me but I'm sure it's something small I either left out or put it unnecessarily.

Yea, with the quotes, youre checking the string/char 'a' and 'b' instead of the variables themselves. Just remove those quotes to pass
