634 PointsWhat am I doing wrong? It works in the workspace...
QUESTION:
Alright, let's finish making our menu. Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu, where each item in the list is rejoined together by a comma and a space (", ").
Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu.
My answer is attached:
What am I doing wrong?? I works fine in the workspace, why doesn't the task like my code?
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(";")
menu = "Our available flavors are: {}."
display_menu = menu.format(",".join(sundaes))

33,778 PointsI think there are two things causing problems here:
- The challenge wants you to
join
with a comma followed by a space, but it looks like right now you're joining with only a comma. - While your code is technically correct, the challenge asks you to either:
(a) Create
display_menu
with the joined list, then reassignmenu
usingformat
, or (b) Accomplish the whole task on themenu
line. Since you're completing the task on thedisplay_menu
line, the challenge isn't seeing your completed code inmenu
. However you accomplish it, just make sure your completed menu is being assigned in yourmenu
variable, and it should pass!
