What am I doing wrong here?

Add a final else clause to this conditional statement so that if the isAdmin variable and isStudent variables are both false an alert opens with the message "Who are you?"

I keep on getting syntax error: parse error for my code.

An else block dosn't take any condition, unlike if and else-if. So, else appears at the very end, meaning the else block will always execute if none of the prior if or else-if blocks execute (unless, of course, you use break or return).

So remove the condition in the else - else ( false ) {, and it should work.
