what am I doing wrong?

I was asked to get an element by it's ID and store it in the inputValue Var... I don't get what I do wrong...

Hi Ran,

Your code is selecting the input element. The directions specifically want you to target the value stored in the input...

"store its value in the variable inputValue".

You need to specify the value property of the input element:

var inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value;
