VR controller command icons

Hi

I'm interested in creating a set of icons on my controller, in this case a set of arrows on the touchpad that shows the character movements.

I'm not sure if I should consider it tooltip icons or a radial menu, as I'm having trouble finding tutorials on how to set up both. I've started from VRTK but I have no idea how to customize the examples provided.

Any help on how to script the damn thing? Tnks
