Java Java Objects Harnessing the Power of Objects Overload Methods

UGH! Totally stuck!

Stuck in the exercise on Method Overloading. Particularly, the second task. If someone could give me a hint, I would certainly appreciated!

Thank you!

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive() {
    drive == lapsDriven;
  }
public void drive(int lapsDriven) {
lapsCount += lapsDriven;
barCount -= lapsDriven;
}

}

Hi Miguel Nunez,

The answer is in the question.

Create a new method named drive that accepts no arguments.

  public void drive() {

  }

It should call the newer drive method passing in a 1 for the default.

public void drive() {
    drive(1);
  }

That's it. This demonstrates method overloading, we defined two methods with the same name, one in task 1 and the other in task 2. The one we defined in task 2 is defined as the default for the function.

I hope this helped!

Yep! It certainly did. I'm pretty darn new at this. Just took up. I guess that at that point I just got all swamped!

Thanks!
