still can not seem to put this in right please help want to keep moving forward

Looks like the first task is correct but try removing the single quote around the values for your margin like this for the second task:

.car { 
  display:block;
  margin: 40px auto;
  padding: 0;
}

Yes, you don't need to use quotes to specify margin properties.
