Yes. It looks like at the time of this video, Wordpress was at v3.8 (currently v4.5.3). I'm sure you can still follow along to get the gist of things.

I agree with Rich Donnellan the only major changes for someone just starting out learning WP is the UI. I wouldn't worry about it.

When one is not familiar with WP, it's hard to get the gist of it when you can't follow along using the latest version.

Though it's outdated version of WP being demonstrated in videos but it's still working as there isn't much difference in the features and functionalities being taught so far. So Working for me
