Python Object-Oriented Python Instant Objects Method Interactivity

This method comes out as incorrect

Hi! This code comes out as incorrect, I've even tried on my own and it returns the expected result. Does anyone know why it won't be accepted?

first_class.py
class Student:
    name = "Your Name"
    grade = 60

    def praise(self):
        return "You inspire me, {}".format(self.name)

    def reassurance(self):
        return "Chin up, {}. You'll get it next time!".format(self.name)

    def feedback(self, grade):
        if self.grade > 50:
            return self.praise()
        else:
            return self.reassurance()

Hey Magnus,

You are using self to check the grade value when you shouldn't. Just change

if self.grade > 50:

to

if grade > 50:

and the rest is good to go. You only need to use self when accessing methods in the Class.

Also, just a note. The challenge did not ask you to create and assign a value to a grade variable. For this challenge, it has no effect, but almost every other challenge, that addition of something that wasn't asked for, will result in a Bummer. Just an FYI for future challenges. :)

Keep Coding! :dizzy:

Thank you so much! :)
