This code works on my computer but not in the quiz, Why?

def disemvowel(word): vowels = ["a", "e", "i", "o", "u","A","E","I","O","U"] words = list(word) try: for letters in words: if letters in vowels: words.remove(letters) except: pass newword=''.join(words) return newword

You might not be testing it as stringently as the challenge does.

Try this word on your function: balloon. :smirk:

Hint: you should never modify an iterable from within the loop where it is being used. It can cause some elements to be skipped over.
