In the last step in this video, how does Vue know that value = "" in this line: <option value="">Select a type of media...</option>

is related to type in this line: <li v-show="type === '' || type === media.type" v-for="media in mediaList" v-on:click="toggleDetails(media)">

In other words, how is type being connected to the generic value=""?
