The compiler says "can't find symbol" on the 's' in secondExample but this is correct. What is wrong?

I can't find what is wrong with my code. Can someone tell me what needs to be done?

Equality.java 
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console. 
String firstExample = "hello";
if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(secondExample))  {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";

Hey,

put all needed variable declarations before your if statement. The compiler works from the top to the botton. It can´t see the secondExample in your if statement.

So i would try it like this :

//variable declaration
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";

//so the compiler knows now what to compare
if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(secondExample))  {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
