Hey Kabolobari,

Very good effort. However for this assignment, the question doesn't ask you to console log answer.

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

If you read the question carefully it says: "Complete the assignment to the userName".

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();

Makes more sense. Bamboozled me, really. But got it now. Thanks all!

They are looking for you to add the variables together, rather than the strings.

So,

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName
console.log(id.toUpperCase());
console.log(lastName.toUpperCase());
var username =  id + '#' + lastname;

Just take the quotes off and the task should pass

O, really? Let me see. Thanks.

Oops, still beats me! Even doing this: console.log(id.toUpperCase()); console.log(lastName.toUpperCase()); var userName = id + '#' + lastname; doesn't work!
