You put a random bracket in the middle of your CSS. So I guess it should read

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
.intro span {
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
font-size: 1.25em;
line-height: 1.6;
}

The problem here is that you've removed the initial selector that selects all of the intro class. And now you have one open curly braces and two closed curly braces. It says to make a new rule to target the span inside the intro class so you need to add that below the selector that targets all of intro. Take a look to see what I mean:

.intro {
  font-size: 1.25em;
  line-height: 1.6;
}

.intro span {
  font-weight: bold;
  font-style: italic;
}

Hope this helps!

Thank you, Jennifer. You were very helpful. :)

I keep making the mistake of not looking at what the challenge actually tells you to do before answering (facepalm). Lesson learned on my part.
